Ms. Florrie – Term 4 2016

I’m really excited to share my journey and to be able to help make Bobbi’s a positive and fun place for us all 😆

Just a bit of background: I’ve always struggled with upper body strength, flexibility and weight management in general. I used to do running, gymming and hiphop dance, coupled with healthy clean eating to help me shred 25kgs from 2012-2014, but it wasn’t sustainable, and I have slowly gained some of that back. To me, pole was something that I’ve always wanted to try, but I was scared and it was outside my comfort zone. I was introduced to the studio by a very talented and amazing pole dancer (Jenny) in 2014. It wasn’t a smooth ride. I did struggle in beginners, but like most of us moved up to Int 1 anyway. Since 2014, I repeated Int 1 about 5 times with Amy Ryder, Jedda, and recently Isabella and Cody. That is a lot…! The reason being that I wouldn’t commit, took breaks, injured my hand and broke my toe 😔 but it didn’t stop me! I was determined to get my inverts, which was my nemesis move until week 5 of term 3, 2016. I bought a pole, practiced at Bobbi’s and just kept doing classes to help build my strength. In just 4-5 weeks, I went from not being able to invert with heels, to being able to invert standing in front of the pole with heels. All of the teachers were very supportive and all provided me with their own unique tips to help me along the way 🙏 thanks to Stephanie also for coaching me for pole and introducing macros to me 👌

On my Instagram account (@eatrainspire) I share most of my pole photos/videos to date, and aim to post a weekly motivational quote on Mondays to inspire others.

If there is one thing that I would like you to take away from all my typing here, is the quote in the photo I have attached to this post. To me, I interpret this quote as “Believe in yourself, work hard and you can achieve your goals 💞”
